About
Founder-led. Detail-obsessed. On Bangkok time.
The founder
Chris is a British designer and developer with more than two decades of experience across websites, search, commerce, multilingual platforms and custom software. He has built everything from a nine-language discovery platform for Thailand to a secure casework system for a frontline UK charity.
He divides his time between the UK and Thailand. On Bangkok time (GMT+7) he shares a working day with Thailand, Vietnam and Jakarta, and is one hour behind Bali, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Manila. That is why this studio exists: English-led businesses in the region deserve a senior partner who works in their day, understands their customers, and sweats the details, including when it is time to reach the local market.
Chris also runs Consiliuma, a UK studio. The Devil's Dev is its own practice, focused entirely on businesses in Asia.

The name
It is a working method, not a gimmick. The details others treat as finishing touches (hreflang tags, Thai line heights, the pre-filled WhatsApp message, the third field on a booking form) are where businesses are judged.
Read it like a customer would.
Every page is reviewed the way a sceptical customer would read it: on a phone, maybe in a second language, looking for what is vague, missing or out of date.
Argue with it before it ships.
Devil’s advocate is part of the process. Each structural decision gets challenged before it is built, not after it is live.
Say what is not included.
Proposals set out scope, exclusions, dependencies and ongoing responsibilities in plain English.
You own everything.
Code, content, data, domain and accounts belong to your business, with a documented handover and no lock-in.
Honesty
- No offices in any market. Work is remote, with meetings in person arranged where a project justifies them.
- No invented client lists or testimonials. Selected work is the founder’s own, clearly labelled.
- No guaranteed rankings, traffic or revenue.
- No regulatory certifications. We build to the requirements your business and its advisers set.
- No translation. Native professionals write your local-language copy; we build and check it.
